Ynes Olivas

Ynes Acosta Olivas was called home on Saturday November 19, 2011. She was born April 20, 1921 in Barancos de Guadalupe, Chihuahua Mexico, and was married to Manuel Cabezuela Olivas in March, 1939 . She lived in Pecos, TX for 56 yrs before moving to Odessa, TX in 2000.

A loving mother, wife, grandmother (Mama) and friend to all, our beloved Mother Ynes has left us too to be reunited with her loving parents Malcario and Bonifacia Acosta and husband of 64 years Manuel Cabezuela Olivas. Although we know she is in a far better place, she will be dearly missed but never forgotten. In this time, though saddened by her loss, we are thankful to the good Lord for allowing us to have her on earth 90 years. Every precious memory will be held forever in our hearts. A devoted Catholic, one of her biggest joys was attending Sunday Mass and cooking for her children. Mama was the thread that held us together. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord, loving and caring for her loved ones, and helping others. She touched many lives bringing joy, laughter and happiness to us all. This is not goodbye, for we shall meet again in the Kingdom of Heaven.

She is survived by her 11 adoring children; Son - Chon & wife Estella Olivas of Houston Texas, Son - Remedios & wife Ramona Olivas of Mesa, AZ, Son - Manuel Jr & wife Maria Ellena of Chandler, AZ, Daughter - Anita &The late Tommy Galindo of Odessa, TX, Daughter - Estella & husband Ronnie Royal of Mesa, AZ , Daughter - Rosa & husband Ricky Martinez of San Antonio, TX, Son - Ruben & wife Rosa Olivas of Odessa, TX, Son - Ismael & wife Lupe Olivas of Jal, NM, Daughter - Emma & husband Noe Ramirez of Odessa, TX, Daughter - Mary Ellen & husband Reyes Rubio of Odessa, TX, Son - Rey & wife Lupe Olivas of Midland, TX. Sisters- Braulia Machuca and Tomasa Salgado from Pecos, TX. She was also blessed with 36 Grandchildren, 65 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great- Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 with a Rosary being performed at 7p.m. Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Woodruff officiating.
