Ysidra R. Benavides

She was born May 15, 1923, to Albino and Gregoria Rodriguez, in Midland, TX. She married Martin J. Benavides on December 5, 1942, in Midland. She moved to Odessa in 1950.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Martin J. Benavides Sr, her son Ruben Benavides, her brothers Nicolas, Paublino, Felipe, Epimenio, and Roque Rodriguez, and her sisters Felipa Maldonado, Patricia Lerma, and Cresencia Diaz, and grandson Roland Ramirez Jr.

She is survived by her sons Martin R. Benavides Jr and wife Carolyn of Odessa; Jesse R. Benavides and wife Virginia of Midland, and Frankie R. Benavides and wife Gaylene of Odessa; daughters Cecilia Benavidez of Odessa; Cathy Ramirez and husband Jaime of Odessa; Emma Benavides of New Braunfels, TX; Victoria Thompson and husband Keith of Midland; and Gloria Ramirez of Odessa; sister Francisca Gutierrez of Midland; 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be said at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Hilary Ihedioha officiating. Interment will follow at the Rose Hill section of Ector County Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Benavides, Eric Benavides, Rowdy Granado, Michael Ramirez, Jody Benavides, Jaime Ramirez, Justin Granado, and Trè Thompson.
