

Allen Lewis Gentry passed away on September 9, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on October 8, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to Wilburn Scott Gentry and Doris Elaine Gentry (Vandenpool). Allen grew up in North Carolina and graduated from Nathanael Greene School in Julian. Over the years, he made homes in North Carolina, Texas, and Oklahoma. While living in Texas, he worked as the Grounds Manager at the Del Rio Subdivision. He had a love for traditional country music, the color blue, and sunny fall days. He found joy in simple things, the laughter of children, his dog Pistol Pete, and his cat Timmy. Allen lived his life with quiet wisdom, teaching those around him to appreciate the little things. Allen was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Choctaw Road Methodist Church. He will be remembered as a kind, self-reliant man, a loyal brother, and someone who lived life with heart and humility. Allen is preceded in death by his parents Wilburn Scott and Doris Elaine Gentry as well as Roy and Maxine Mills and brothers, James Hoyt Turner, James Ronald Leigh Kenneth Hoyt Mills. He is survived by his brothers: David Mills (Karen) and Dennis R. Turner; Sister-in-law Jean Turner; Nephews Dennis R. Turner II, Brent, Kevin, Chuck and Casey and Shireen Davis and their children Ethan and Dylinn Davis; Nieces Mary Leigh Pratt, Hilary Turner and Cammie Holder Zaino. May he rest eternally and may light perpetual shine upon him.
A visitation for Allen will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral will occur Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Choctaw United Methodist Church, 1200 N Choctaw Rd, Choctaw, OK 73020. A burial will occur Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Elmwood Cemetery Choctaw, 1760 N Choctaw Rd, Choctaw, OK 73020.
