Alverta was married to Ernest Hansen in 1950 in Williamstown, PA and went to live in Brayton, Iowa where two sons, James and Daniel were born. A year later they moved to Middletown, PA where she worked on Olmstead AFB.
In 1966 they moved to Midwest City where she worked until retirement at Tinker AFB.
Alverta had many interests. She loved her church, Douglas Blvd UMC until it closed. She was very active in church functions such as singing in the choir, bake sales, the Methodist Women, and delivering mobile meals until age 93. She also liked to sew, knit, crochet, and paint. She was also a fine cook and homemaker.
She always took the Golden Rule to heart and treated everyone as a friend.
Alverta was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, son Daniel, two Brothers, Russell and LeRoy Shutt and Sister Ruth Beadle.
She is survived by her son James Hansen of Higgins, TX.
Alverta was loved by all, she will be sorely missed by her family and friends!
