I don’t think there are words big enough to describe how amazing Angela McDonald was. She wasn’t just someone I loved — she took me in and treated me like family when I had no family, and that changed my life. She was like a mom I never had, and I’m so thankful that God led me to her and that I got to know her love, kindness, and faith.

From the very beginning, she saw the good in me — even when I couldn’t see it myself. She had a way of noticing the best in people and bringing it out in them. She stayed up countless nights just to hug me, encourage me, and remind me that I mattered. She always put others before herself, in every way.

Angela didn’t just guide me  she welcomed me, believed in me, and shared life with me. She was the one I first accepted Christ with, and she didn’t just talk about Jesus — she lived Him. You could see her faith in everything she did how she treated people, encouraged them, and lifted them up. Her love and kindness reached far beyond what she ever realized.

Over fifteen years, she became more than a mentor or a youth pastor to me — she became family. She always made me feel safe and loved. She welcomed me with open arms every time I walked into church. She made me feel like I belonged. She made me feel like I mattered. She had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved, and I will never forget that.

She was one of the strongest, most selfless people I’ve ever known. Strong in her faith, her love, her kindness, and in the way she faced life. She faced challenges with courage and grace, yet never let that stop her from serving and caring for others. Her generosity and selflessness left a mark on everyone who knew her.

I feel so lucky to have known her, and I will always feel honored to have been loved by her. Losing her is painful, and it hits me that I won’t get to see her or be with her the way I used to, won’t hear her voice or feel her hugs — but I take comfort knowing we’ll meet again in heaven.

I have so many memories that I will always remember. You will always be in my heart. May you rest in peace. I will see you in heaven where we will be rejoicing and praising God forever. I love you.

I first met Angela and her family and her boys while they were playing baseball then we started having Bible studies in Kathy and my house. This was over 30 years ago and continued until my retirement from Living Word Tabernacle on October 13th 2024. Angela will always hold a special place in my heart, she was a very special person, always willing to let you know when you weren’t in line with God’s word and she would push you to read God’s Word and let it challenge you to be a better follower of Christ. She will be missed, and I wasn’t ready to let her go but God was ready for her to go home with Him, and she will pain free forevermore. I’m not going to say goodbye but that I will see you soon, just bye for now, Vernon and Kathy Guthrie.

Anglea wasn't just a person I knew, to me she was a second mother to me I have so many amazing memories with her.

Angela was my momma! She always went above and beyond to make you feel loved and know God loves you. This photo last year we drove to Michigan to get my dress and on that same day her newest granddaughter was born! We was sooo excited and she everything to me. She taught me how to love others and love them the way God intended. I know you are at peace I WILL see you again momma I love you
