When we met Arnie, it was when he and Mary first visited a worship service where my family attended.  What a blessing that our lives crossed paths and we all became part of the same church family!  Life swiftly keeps moving, and it's been years since we all filled our "normal spots" on pews next to each other.  We miss those times together, but have never forgotten them nor will we.  Arnie was always so kind and generous, always offering his usual happy face and genuine smiles to all around.  Those who knew him will certainly miss him.  We send our love, our thoughts, and our prayers to all of his family, but especially to his beloved bride, our sweet sister Mary.

I do so miss my beloved husband but know he is at peace now after suffering for so long. He loved his God and attended worship services as long as he was able. He was the one who thought we should get out and go someplace every day even if it was just for a "walk in Walmart or Sam's".
Arnie always loved playing golf and it was a sad time when he could no longer get out with his friends and spend the day on the golf course.
Arnie was interested in coins and put together different books for his children always trying to upgrade them.  He was so thrilled when one grandson became interested in collecting coins and their sharing thoughts about what each one had found. Thank you James.

Dear Mary and family,
I just read an email from Melody and was dismayed to learn my Uncle La had passed away.  He was a loving and caring person, always with a smile and a teasing personality, which I remember from at least 69 years ago.  I saw him way too little, but he will always remain a dear, cherished uncle.  There are so many memories swirling in my mind which I can't express right now. One I've got to share is that he and Uncle Dee loved to pull on my fingers and tell me I was tooting.  I ran from them when they had "that look" in their eyes.
My family often ran from violence during many nights in Oxford and I always felt protected by both of my uncles.  I miss Dee every day and will miss La even more.  Please accept my deepest sorrow.  Love, Celeste

Arnie will be greatly missed. I loved playing golf with him, but I Ioved being able to worship and serve God together with him even more.

Arnold Hinze..... I have known Arnie longer than I have known my husband, his nephew, Bill Kinney.  About 34 years and worked with him at the Burlington Northern Railroad.  He was very popular, as I became friends with him and was very honored and admired at the Railroad.  He was quite the jokster and always had something positive to say to you or words that would lift your spirits for the day.  Then I met Bill, his nephew, who was especially fond of him and we became close as a family does.  Bill and I and our children visited Arnie and Mary quite frequently and they baby sat the kids. 
I was so wonderful to have Arnie and Mary close in Westminster, Colorado.  I even rode my horse, Tez, over to see them once.  Boy, did Arnie have the talk of the town about that!  
Arnie, was a very wonderful person, a good husband, father, grandfather, but most of all he was my faithful friend.  I loved him almost like my father and Mary like the Mom I didn't know as she died when I was very young.  
Arnie would come up to visit Bill and I in Longmont on our little ranch.  It was peaceful sitting talking to him and watching the sun set on the mountains. I'll cherish those moments, always. 
So, Arnold Hinze, I will never say good bye to you, cause you will forever be in my heart.  Just keep a spot on that cloud up there and we'll sit and have those long talks again.

I realize that Arnie was a good and God fearing man, that I will miss very much. From the first time I met him and Mary, they were an inspiration to me.

Mary, it is not surprising to me that our families became such close friends.  You and Arnie have always been as much like kin as anyone could be.  I will never forget the fun I had with Arnie on the golf course and the times my Dad and Arnie had together at Pep Boys running parts.  I know that was great for both of them.  The game nites with my Mom and Dad will always be remembered.  you will have our love and support.  Dan

Mary, Arnie always reminded me of my Granddaddy.  I think it was the railroad connection and his humor and his red hair.  He will be greatly missed.  We love you and you are in our prayers.  Judy

I read this message, after closing prayer, to the assembly of the Mustang church of Christ on the day of Arnie's passing:  "There once was a time, not long before I was born, when the whole world trembled.  And young men, like our brothers Arnie, Elmer, Emmett, V.T.,  and perhaps others of whom I am unaware, heeded the call to arms.  They left their homes and their love ones.  They forsook their hopes and dreams.  They sacrificed the best portion of their lives fighting the onslaught of tyranny and oppression.  In their service to our nation, they learned to appreciate freedom and love liberty.   They learned how to live humbly with duty, dignity, and honor.  Having made this sacrifice, they returned home to a life of great uncertainty.  Somehow, with the providence of God, they obeyed the gospel call and thusly joined in a different fight, one for the cause of Christ.  Most importantly, because of their deeds and exemplary lives, we have a strong congregation of God's people in this place.  It is my sincere desire in writing this message that we thank God for these men and never forget how they showed us the way."  And I do give thanks to God for my brother-in-Christ, Arnie. I firist met Arnie in 1964 the year I went to work for the railroad. We worked togeather lots of times,&became good friends. Arnie was a good orginizer, He orginized several golf tourments for the railroad workers .And boy did we ever have fun. Arnie & I, & Tommy Maxfield played golf together one day,after we finished ,I told That my Aunt was at my house & Ithought they might like each other.We went to me house. You should hav seen the look on Mance,s  face when saw three red heades walk in. The rest is history. Arnie was a good Father,& husband,& as good a friend as anyone could hope for. Arnie was such a great christian friend.  He was so thoughtful to everyone.  We had such good times every Friday night eating out so many different resturants and of course enjoyed playing
all the games especially when he won we always teased him that it was because he was the scorekeeper. I will miss him so

Arnie was fun. How else can you describe someone who goees out on the golf course with a gigantic plastic golf club and horses around.Always quick with a joke, he always had a smile on his face and a quick response for anything you might say. When he and Mary Francis visited me in Mineesota and went to dinner, we found glass in one of our salad bowls. Even that could not stop him from making us have a great, fun time that night.
  I will always remember him with a smile on his face but also as a Christian who along with his wife was faithful to the Lord.

We appreciate that Arnie never let his ailments or age keep him from being busy and active as possible in the work of the church. The fact that he was always learning about new things and didn't quit "living" until he died was a great example to us all.  We appreciate when he made a mistake, he would admit it and say he was sorry if he needed to, which is the most courageous thing of all in today's world. He told us how he loved us and left us with so many email keepers  with his wisdom that we will enjoy reading again. A favorite thing to hear him say was that his uncle gave him an all expense paid senior trip overseas... then he would say...Uncle Sam! I'm so thankful that we got to know him this past 7 years. Dad was one of the strongest men, both physically and mentally, I've ever known.  He always tried to be fair with all of us.  He was a very generous man to so many.  If he thought someone needed help, he'd do what ever he could to assist.  Dad was fun and I'll never forget the many wonderful family vacations and reunions we had together.  He was not one to complain, but instead listened to others with compasionate ears and always was busy with some project or his coins.  I will never walk into his house without seeing him at the computer or sitting in his recliner with his beloved pets Rita and Ruby.  He was so loving and always had hugs and enjoyed getting kisses and would make that little giggle.  I loved him and I will miss him always.

What a wonderful fun time we had at our "Friday Night dinners and Games"   "The Wild and Crazy Gang"  So many joyful years filled with laughter and craziness.  Just a bunch of  "crazy seniors"  trying to remember whose time it was to deal the cards and how much we each bid and who caught what and Arnie trying to keep score and make sense of it all. I was deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Arnold's passing.  Unfortunately, it had been many years since I last saw him (at dads funeral), but I will always remember him being very happy and joking with everyone.  He was truly devoted to his family and loved them so.  My thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Mary, Cathy, Steve & Cindy.

Arnie was a lovely man and a wonderful husband to my Aunt Mancie.  They had a wonderful life together.  I will always remember his great spirit and sense of humor, and how much he loved life.  I will truly miss him.

I will miss my wonderful Uncle Arnold - there are so many great memories of him that I will cherish for life.  I am so glad I was able to spend time with him in Yukon a couple of years ago.  He still had that special twinkle in his eye.

Arnie Hinze was a wonderfully humorous man. He had a great spirit and a loving heart. I will remember fondly listening to his jokes and watching that infectious smile of his at the family reunions. You could always find Arnie at the reunion; just look for the biggest crowd of people, because he was right in the middle, sharing a joke or a story from his past. He will truly be missed, but I have great comfort in knowing he is now an Angel looking down on us at peace with his Lord.

Arnie was one of the most kind and caring people I have known. Never a cross word, and always a uplifting. 

He had many stories to tell of his life and times on the railroad. Many lessons learned in life.

And most of all a very giving person. He truly will be missed.

My daughter Denise & I took a road trip a few years ago and stopped in to see Uncle Arnold & Aunt Mary.  I am so glad we did as it was such a nice visit down memory lane and so good to see him again.

Arnie was a forward thinker for our church family. He pushed us with his vision to grow by challenging us to use our abilities through encouragement and support. He was a great example by desiring to be with his Christian family even while suffering physical pain. What a great example of enduring faith he showed all of us.

Arnie, I am going to miss you.  What a fun guy!  We had so many good times at Bible study and church in Westminster, CO.   Arnie always had a good question for the teacher. Mary and Arnie had me into their home so many times, he was always a hospitable host.  He was a very thoughtful man, always thinking of the good Lord and how to serve Him.  You will be missed, Arnie; but I know you are singing and dancing with the angels now.  Your pain and suffering are all behind you and you have left us with such positive memories.  You have now achieved your goal: an eternity to love the Lord!  What a victory!

Arnie was the most positive & jolly person I knew in the face of physical adversity with the many health problems he endured.  I knew of several surgeries and ailments such as knees, aorta, lungs and much more, but Arnie always kept his smile on his face, let out many a chuckle, and kept working until the end.  One day I mentioned to Arnie some minor pain I was having to my knee, back or some other little ache and Arnie gently put his arm around my shoulder and said, " you know Alan, this getting old is not for sissies".  How right you are Arnie.  Lord willing I live that long, hopefully will keep a similar posive attitude.  We should all be thankful to God for our many blessings.

Thank you Arnie - I will never forgot your example & little saying of how we should keep a posive disposition even in the face of life's many adversities.

My Dad was a strong, kind, caring, thoughtful man.  I will miss our daily conversations, his support and his guidance in  all things.  He loved all of his family so much and was so concerned that all of us would be okay when he left.  I am so grateful that he is walking on golden streets now and that he is no longer in pain.  He left a lifetime of precious memories in my heart.  I was truly blessed to have him as my father.

Arnie was a close friend that made life fun.  He never said an angry word about anyone and playing golf with him was most enjoyable because he played the game the same way he lived his life.  He made it fun and did not take it serious.  The one thing that Arnie took seriously was his love for the Lord.  He was willing to do anything for anyone.  Arnie loved his family and his friends dearly and was loved by all as well.  He will be missed greatly by his family, his friends, and the church but he is most welcome in his heavenly home.
