Benny passed away on May 9, 2020 in the home he loved with his wife Brenda by his side. He leaves a legacy of generosity and kindness to others and will be missed by many. Benny was born in Oklahoma and chose to make it his home. He traveled extensively for his job and when asked if he had a favorite place, he always answered, “home.” Music was central to his life. As a talented guitarist, he played in numerous bands over the years. He spent the last 30 years working for his dear friend Vince Gill. Benny loved his job and the travels involved took him around the globe. He made friends everywhere. Benny loved everyone and judged no one. The number of lives he touched is truly amazing. Benny and Brenda were married for over 40 years. During their lifetime together, his first priority was always his family and his many friends. Benny loved animals and was proud to be Dad to his beloved Yorkies, Gibson and Gomez. In addition to his wife Brenda, Benny is survived by his mother Clara, his sister Lisa and her fiancé Jeff, and his brother Paul. He was predeceased by his father Benny. Due to the current social distancing there will be no public service at this time. A gathering to celebrate Benny’s life will be held at a later date.

I met Benny years ago at Ron Lira's guitar shop. Every time he was in town he'd visit Ron's shop and spend time visiting with us.

I knew his dad as well.

He was always friendly and had plenty of stories to share about working with Vince & The Eagles.

I saw & spoke with Benny just before he passed and he never let on that he was sick. When I received word of his passing I was completely shocked!

Benny was always kind and had a big smile on his face.

You're missed by so many!

It’s almost as thou 2020 touring could not go forward and has rested for a year now as to honor Benny because touring without him just doesn’t seem normal at all.

Benny…a gentlemen, a gentle man, a friend to so many, good guy to all, legend in his industry that left an indelible mark of kindness, humor and humanity,
You are missed, Benny, you are missed…

I never had the pleasure to personally meet benny, until my last Vince concert. I was waiting by the bus to hopefully get my cd covers signed. There were two buses & had no idea which one he'd be going to.

After what seemed like forever, Benny came walking by & I asked if I was standing by the right bus. He told me no, & that Vince was already on the other bus. I guess he saw that look of terrible disappointment in my face. He asked me to watch his piece of luggage & took my covers on to the bus for Vince to sign them.

I'll never forget his kindness in making a long time fan so happy. He was such a sweet man to do that, & left a lasting impression on me. Rest in peace, sweet Benny, & Happy Birthday in heaven. You'll be so greatly missed at the shows. You'll always be remembered by me & everyone else whose lives you've touch, even more personally. Thank you again for that beautiful memory, dear Benny. Much love.

Commemorating the anniversary of a loved one's passing is a reminder that their legacy lives on in our memories and heart-felt sentiments of joy in having them always with us in spirit...until we meet again. Benny is with God and watching over us all.

Dear Brenda. I just now heard about Benny’s passing. I cannot tell you how sorry I am. I have had the pleasure of knowing Benny for about 30 years now. My wife and I are close friends with Vince and we have attended a great many of his concerts over the years. Benny was always the one who got us in and took care of us. He was such a wonderful man. I can’t tell you how many times he took his own backstage pass off and handed it to us. I can’t tell you how many times I have sat there and talked to him or watched him as he got Vince’s guitars ready for the next song. Vince’s concerts will never be the same for us without Benny. As much as we will miss him, I know Vince will miss him so much more. May he rest in peace. Harry & Ann Bickel
