

Bessie Lorene (Hudson) Fry, formerly of Houston, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, Bella Vista, AR, Edmond, OK, and recently Indianapolis, IN, passed away Tuesday, December 19th, 2017. She was born to Wylie Shaw Hudson and Willie Viola (Cook) Hudson, of Mart, TX, on October 28th, 1914. Lorene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid genealogist from the 1930’s on and a life member of the Hudson Family Association. She was scout leader to Girl Scout Troop 76 in Oklahoma City, OK from grade school through their graduation from Northeast High school in 1965. She was an enthusiastic gardener well into her eighties. She was a member of St Luke’s Methodist Church, Oklahoma City OK, The Community Church of Bella Vista AR, and the First United Methodist Church, Edmond, OK until her move to Hoosier Village, Indianapolis, IN in 2008, where she regularly attended chapel services and made it a practice to hug everyone she encountered every day. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Brown Fry, her parents, and her brothers J.B. Hudson, E. Douglas Hudson, Paul C. Hudson, and Wylie S. Hudson, Jr.
Survivors include her sister Claytie E. Abrams of Houston, TX, her son James H. Fry of Carmel, IN, her daughter P. Eileen Fry of Bloomington, IN, her grandsons Stephen Fry of Waukee, IA and Michael Fry of Westfield, IN, and her great grandchildren Erin Fry of Waukee, IA, Kyra Fry of Plano, TX, and Loryn and Ryan Fry of Westfield, IN.
Services and interment will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday December 30, 2017 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hoosier Village Foundation Employee Scholarship Program at Hoosier Village, 9875 Cherryleaf Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
