Billie Rae Doughty

She was born on November 15, 1934, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Connie Wilson Haws and Mable Haws (Henry. Billie graduated from Chandler, Oklahoma with her high school diploma.

Billie traveled from Bayton, Texas, to Farmington, New Mexico, before settling down in Oklahoma, over several areas like Fargo, Deer Creek, Choctaw, and Clinton.

She had 53 years of marriage with her husband, Curtis Davon McGee before his death on January 13, 2006. She married Robert Paul Doughty on November 30, 2013, and remained married to him for 9 years until his death in March of 2022.

Her favorite music was hymns from the Trinity Hymnal and any other music that Glorified God. Her perfect day would be getting up and reading the Word of God and meditating on it throughout the day, praying, and of course, sharing the Gospel.

Billie loved to laugh at funny things that were done by her kids and grandkids as they grew up. Her family learned to never give up praying for the lost souls, leading by example, and what it means to be a Christian.

Billie would want to be remembered to not be put on a pedestal, but instead, be as the Scripture instructs, a meek and lowly spirit. What she loved the most was spending time with like-minded Christians.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Choctaw.

Billie is survived by her sons, Gary Duane McGee and wife, Gale, of Muskogee, OK, Gregory Kent McGee of Oklahoma City, and Phillip Guyton McGee and wife, Korri, of Cashion, Oklahoma; 31 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.

A visitation for Billie will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 625 Santa Fe Rd., Davenport, OK 74026. An interment will occur at Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, OK.
