Charles Leonard Fagin passed away Friday morning, September 5, 2014, at 5:00 a.m. He was born to Max M. Fagin, attorney and Adeline Byers Fagin, history teacher, on August 7, 1937. He was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City. He received his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Oklahoma. He loved the practice of law, but, most of all, he loved his family and friends. He was married to Barbara J. Fagin, who passed away in 1998. She spent her life in community service and was a founder of the Christmas Connection in Oklahoma City. He had the joy of sharing his life, not only with Barbara, but with her three children, Tanya D. Weaver, her husband Tony, M.D. and their children, Kyle and Alex of Tallahassee, Florida; Lisa M. Thomas, her husband, Kenny and their children, Hillary, Courtney and Audrey of Arcadia, Oklahoma; Robert Ty Thomas, M.D., his wife, Sara, M.D. and their children, Josie and Torie of Birmingham, Alabama. After Barbara passed away, Charles was truly fortunate to have one more love, Marcia Deutch Fagin, widow of Charles’ cousin, Carl (in that wedding, Charles served as best man). Marcia and Charles were together for more than fifteen years and shared a truly deep and fulfilling love relationship. Marcia’s children are Heather Fagin Douglas and husband Chet who reside in Tucson, Arizona, and David Fagin who resides in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Charles is also survived by his sister, Sara Ann Fagin and her significant other, Barry Spector of New York City and Charles’ brother, Arnold Fagin and his wife, Dr. Mari Fagin of Edmond, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions are unnecessary, but can be made to the Jewish Federation of Oklahoma City, 710 Wilshire Creek Blvd., Oklahoma City, Ok 73116 or to the Christmas Connection, Inc., P.O. Box 891020, Oklahoma City, OK 73189. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday September 7, 2014, at the Temple B’nai Israel Cemetery, located south of Memorial Park Cemetery, which is about ½ mile south of Memorial Road on North Kelly Avenue. Later this month, on Sunday, September 28, a Celebration of the Life of Charles will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Temple B’nai Israel, 4901 North Pennsylvania Ave., Oklahoma City
