Charlie Nicolai Duran

Charlie Nicolai Duran, 78, of Jones, OK passed away Oct. 8, 2015. He was born September 1, 1937 in Hanover, NM to Manuel Delsey and Sarah (Nicolai) Duran. Charlie married his beloved wife Sally in New Mexico and the two made their home there together for 10 years before moving their young family to Jones in 1969. Charlie was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Jones. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Charlie retired from Gulfstream Aerospace after over 20 years of service. When his children were young, Charlie was always there to coach whichever sport they were participating in. When the grandchildren came along, he loved watching them play from the sidelines. Charlie leaves behind a lifetime of memories to his family and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sally; children, Sara Helms and husband Mike, Charlie Ray Duran and wife Dana, Orlando Duran and wife Patti, and Tricia Duran-Bohuslavicky and husband Randy; grandchildren, Tyra and husband Mark, Tay, Grant, Gabrielle, Alix, and Adam; great grandchildren, Charlea, Tres and Lillea. He also leaves behind many special close friends. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and 2 grandaughters, Emily and Amy. There will be a Prayer Service held Monday, 7:00 p.m. at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am, Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Jones.
