Cheryl Ann Siders, 68, of Enid, passed on January 25, 2024, in Oklahoma City. She was born on July 13, 1955, to Claude Raymond Cheatham and Wilda Mae (Rogers) Cheatham in Oklahoma City. Cheryl attended Carl Albert High School and then went on to earn her LPN license at High Plains Vo Tech, in addition to obtaining her EMT certification.
She and Don Roy Siders eloped on June 14, 1974, in Watonga, OK, and later had their official wedding on September 27, 1974. Their family consisted of three children: Ivana, of Enid, OK; Eli, of Keller, TX; and Coy, of Mexia, TX.
For several years, she was a preacher's wife and a stay-at-home mom, then transitioned to working as an EMT. Eventually, she became an LPN at Bass Hospital, specifically in the OB/GYN department. Afterward, she worked at various nursing homes and home-health companies in the Enid area. Cheryl retired from the Golden Oaks Nursing Home in December 2019.
Cheryl had an extensive collection of various items, which included Precious Moments figurines, Coca-Cola memorabilia, teddy bears, and gnomes. Her relaxation time consisted of watching videos, coloring, reading, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Cheryl was a dedicated volunteer with countless hours of service. She dedicated many years to being a church camp nurse, volunteering in the youth group, and assisting at the North Garland Church of Christ food pantry. Additionally, she joined medical mission trips to Mexico. Cheryl's long-standing commitment to blood donation resulted in 68 donations and over 8.5 gallons. As a devoted member of the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Medical Reserve Corp, she helped in the aftermath of the Oklahoma City Bombing, Moore tornadoes, Hurricane Katrina, and various other disasters. She also volunteered at the Enid Community Clinic. Since 2005, Cheryl has been involved with Chemo Angels and had more than 30 buddies. Among her charitable acts were donations to various organizations, like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and sending Valentine's Day/Christmas cards and goodie boxes to veterans and the elderly. Cheryl simply had a huge heart and generously offered money, food, or time to those in need.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren (Kaimi, Korbin, Chance, Keagan, Kason, Ethan, Kalven, and Makynzi), and great-grandchildren Carter and Coraline, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Her parents and siblings preceded her in death.
