

Rosie the Riveter, World War II Veteran, PTA President, Bluebird & Campfire Girl Leader, Sorority House Mom’s Association President, Coupon Queen, Scrabble Diva, Bookworm of the Royal Order, Legal Secretary, Animal Lover, World Traveler, Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Loyal Friend. All are traits and accomplishments that describe Clarissa Anna England Neaves, who passed away on April 18, 2011. Born on August 25, 1923 to Mildred Ellen Groves England and Joseph Richard England, Clarissa grew up in Spencer, OK. After graduating from Central High School in 1941, she joined her father on the workforce at Tinker Field as one of the first “Rosie the Riveters.” On her 20th birthday, she enlisted in the Navy WAVES, and served honorably during WWII. After marrying Richard Aaron Neaves on June 9, 1946, Clarissa contributed to the baby boom with the grand production of Richard England Neaves and Margaret “Maggie” Neaves Price.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Raymond Joseph England. She is survived by her brothers: John Allen England and his wife, Barbara of Saginaw, MI., and Leroy Robert England and his wife, Verlene of Broken Arrow, OK. Survivors also include her children, daughter-in-law, Dianna Neaves and son-in-law, Bill Price, numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren, as well as her partners in crime, June Harris, Millie Wright, and Jane Krizer, and her faithful companion, Spice.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 22, 2011, at Grace United Methodist Church, 6316 N. Tulsa Ave, Oklahoma City, with interment following at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour NE Funeral Home
