Retired landman, Creed T. Huddleston, Jr. passed away peacefully on September 10, 2010 at the age of 85. An oil and gas attorney, Creed was recently honored by the Oklahoma Bar Association for 60 years of service, but his greatest joys in life were his 50-year marriage to his wife June and his family.
Born in Okemah, OK, Creed moved to Oklahoma City at the age of 5. Upon his graduation from Classen High School, he attended the Oklahoma Military Academy before enlisting in the Army Air Corps following Pearl Harbor. After serving as a pilot and bombing instructor during World War II, Creed attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and earned a BA in Geology and a law degree. He worked around the country for the next 17 years for Shell Oil before returning to OKC to establish an independent oil and gas practice, which he continued until his retirement.
Predeceased by his younger daughter Sarah, Creed leaves behind his loving wife June, son and daughter-in-law Creed and Lisa Huddleston of Raleigh, NC, daughter and son-in-law Susan and James Belote of Edmond, OK, six grandchildren, niece Martha Van Horn and nephew Hugh Ilgenfritz, Jr., both of Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at the First Presbyterian Church of Oklahoma City at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, September 14, 2010.
