Dainty Lea Scales

She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 25, 1935. She was the Daughter of Lonnie and Georgia Grigsby. Dainty worked as a bench hand at Lucent Technologies for 8 years. After retiring, she returned to being a homemaker.

She was an active member of Woodland Hills Baptist church in Newcastle for over 20 years. In her free time, Dainty loved crafting, planning and hosting family events, camping, fishing, and doing word search puzzles.

Dainty is survived her son Lonny Scales and wife Denise Scales of Bridge Creek, Daughter in Law Charessia Scales of Bridge Creek, Grandchildren Melissa Shirley and Joshua Huckeby of Bridge Creek, Lonnie (Nathan) Scales of Bridge Creek, Miranda Kimble and Husband Tony Kimble of Choctaw, Ryan Scales and Lauren Scales of Bridge Creek, Great-Grandchildren Madison Shirley and Dylan Shirley of Bridge Creek, Ezekiel Kimble and Isaiah Kimble of Choctaw, Sister Lavada Fish of Dibble, and host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by Husband William (Sonny) Scales, Son Jeffery Scales, Parents Lonnie and Georgia Grigsby, Brothers Odell Grigsby and Oliver Grigsby, Sisters Ruby Stewart, Ruthie Wilson, Lola Rusche.

A visitation for Dainty will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. The funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 2:00pm at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, 313 Oklahoma 76, Newcastle, OK 73065 with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Garden, 500 SW 104th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73139.
