Darin was the beloved son of the late Irvin and Dawn Kofroth. He was the owner and operator of Coastal Locksmith in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he worked as a locksmith for many years.
He is survived by his sisters, Jeanine Kidder of Virginia and Yvette Hahn of Oklahoma; his nieces, Kathleen Stepp, Rebecca Hahn, Kimberly Hahn, and Amanda Kidder; his nephew, William Kidder; his great-nieces, Monroe and Skyler Stepp, Aspen and Elliot Stokes; and his great-nephews, Jameson and Rogen Stokes, Ritchie Clarke, and Kent Kidder.
Darin had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hiking, fishing, kayaking, and camping. Some of his favorite places include the Peaks of Otter Campgrounds and the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area. He loved to explore and spend time in nature. While his niece Kathleen traveled, Darin took great joy in caring for her dog, Hank—going so far as to research and prepare homemade dog food recipes.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Mercy Hospital and Mercy Hospice of Oklahoma City for their guidance, compassion, and loving care during Darin’s final days.
Memorial donations may be made in Darin’s honor to the American Cancer Society or to Mercy Hospice of Oklahoma City.
