David was born on March 15, 1955 in San Angelo, TX, to William B. Blew, Jr. and Doris Fenton Blew. He grew up in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri, graduating from Wentzville (MO) High School in 1973. He immediately entered the travel business at Evelyn Seagrave Travel in Oklahoma City, although he had been memorizing airline schedules since junior high. He received his Associates Degree in Travel from Columbia College in Missouri. He worked at Seagrave Travel until even after it became Bayless Travel, eventually finishing his career at Travel by Inace. David was more than just a travel agent. His clients loved him and the incredible service he provided them all around the world, many of whom became lifelong friends.
David never married. His children were his nieces and nephews and their children. He was more than just a member at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. The Choir, the Bells, and his Sunday School class were his extended family, along with the congregation and staff.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, and his great-nephew Samuel McClain Blew.
He is survived by his mother, Dot Blew, his older brother Bill Blew and wife Lori, and his younger sister, Marian Roberson and husband Todd, his nephew Bryan Blew, wife Jennifer, and children, Mia, William, Elliot, and Carys; his niece Molly Blew, wife Stacy, and children Jones and Evan; his nephew Fenton Blew, wife Melissa, and children, Makenzie, Keira, and Lincoln; his niece Whitney Gerber and son Jack; his niece Katie Edmiston, and husband Kyle, and daughter Quinlan; his nephew David Roberson; and former sister-in-law, Julie Slentz Blew.
The celebration of David’s life will be held at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church on August 5, 2021, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, which David loved for their wonderful care of his grand-nephew, Sam.
A more loving and loved man we have never known. We will miss you so much, Davey…until we meet again.
