

David Mark Sterling, 65, born on April 28th, 1951, left this earth on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016. He spent his first 25 years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After graduating from OCU with a degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Spanish, he headed for Cranbrook Art Institute in Michigan where he received his Masters degree. Then, it was on to New York City where he spent the next 25 years in his own Graphic Design business. After the World Trade Center bombing, he relocated to Merida, Mexico, to live in a home he had purchased earlier. There, he started a successful cooking school while still continuing his business in New York. David was an extremely multi-talented man and was included on fellow Oklahoman, Rick Bayless’s cooking show. Martha Stewart also took her whole crew and filmed her show in David’s Merida kitchen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Roberta Sterling, older brother, Ronald Sterling and nephew, Todd Kevin Sterling. He is survived by his life partner Keith Heitke, his sister, Anna Marie Sterling and nieces Tara Sterling Cornman and Tiffani Sterling Minich. His ashes will be spread in a Merida, Mexico, Park under a Ceiba tree. A memorial service will be held January 29th, 2017, at 2 P.M. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, in Oklahoma City. Rest in peace, David.
