
DeAnn Dudenhoeffer Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on July 16, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 5, 1936 in Grandfield, Oklahoma to Thelma and William Dudenhoeffer.
She attended Grandfield High School where she played basketball, was a majorette, yearbook editor, F.H.A. Queen and Football Queen. DeAnn received her degree from the University of Oklahoma, where she enjoyed participating in Sooner Scandals, was a Yearbook Beauty and a proud member of Chi Omega Sorority.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling to New York, Colorado and Santa Fe with her family and friends. Her radiant smile and infectious laugh will always be remembered.
DeAnn is survived by her adoring husband of 56 years, Lee Allan, and three devoted daughters: DeLee Smith and friend Julia Lyles, Jennifer Kiersch and her husband Fritz, Wendy House and her husband Ethan, all of Oklahoma City; step-granddaughter Marissa Kiersch and step-grandson Cameron Kiersch of Glendale, CA; cousins Marilyn Allison and her husband Harry of Wichita Falls, TX; Philip Dudenhoeffer of Grandfield, OK; Clay Frank Dudenhoeffer and his wife Pat of Grandfield, OK; Art Dudenhoeffer and his wife Fran of Colorado Springs, CO; Mike Cropper and his wife Carolyn of Midland, TX; Ken Cropper of Freeport, TX; Tommy Cropper and his wife Amber of Sand Point, UT; niece Elizabeth Brunsdon and her husband Bruce of Lakewood, CO; nephews Shane Smith and his wife Paige of Cheyenne, WY; Drew Smith and his wife Jean of Denver, CO; Carl Smith and his wife Carol; Charlie Smith, Skipper Smith and Clay Smith, all of Oklahoma City; Vernon Smith and his wife Lynda of Arlington, TX; and numerous great nieces and great nephews in Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob.
DeAnn's family would like to thank all of her friends for the love shown throughout her illness with countless cards, gifts, meals and phone calls. In addition, the family appreciates the wonderful care she received from Dr. Brian Geister, Dr. Tommy Showalter, Juli Johnson and Jamie Nettleton at Integris Cancer Institute; Dr. Diane Bodurka and Dr. Anuja Jhingran at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX; caregivers Agnes Mugo and Laura "Lilly" Kironget; and Laura Cranmer, Lindsey Owen, Karen Wilkes and Melissa Hepner, all of Integris Hospice.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 20, at First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that contributions may be made to Integris Cancer Institute of Oklahoma, c/o Integris Foundation, 3030 Northwest Expressway, Suite 1600, Oklahoma City, OK 73112-9988.
