Deborah Jean Byrd

Deborah Jean Byrd passed away on Tuesday, April 14th at 11:52p.m at the age of 69. She was born on August 11, 1956 in Passaic, New Jersey to William Butler Brown and Alice Brown. In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in passing by her husband Harold Lee Byrd Jr, her brothers Billy Brown, Keith Brown, Gerald Brown, and Norman Brown and her sisters Elaine Brown and June Brown. She is survived by her children Harold Lee Byrd Jr, Darnell McNeil, Tyronne Byrd and his wife Bridget, Deborah N. Byrd, Christopher Byrd, Kimberly James and her husband Darnell James. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and 14 grandchildren and counting.

Deborah was raised in Los Angeles, California and moved to Oklahoma in 1985. She was a homemaker for many years before opening up a daycare that she owned and operated for decades.

Deborah was married to her husband from 1985 until he passed away in 2021. They cherished their trips back to California, hosting friends and family, watching NFL games, cooking shows and true crime documentaries together.

In her later years, she courageously faced many illnesses with strength and resilience. She was a true fighter that faced every challenge with positivity, grace and laughter even in her final days.
