Delbert Ray Maxwell, 87, of Edmond, OK died Feb. 18, 2012. He was born Mar. 24, 1924 to Will and Emma Maxwell and grew up in Ada, OK. Delbert was a tailgunner in the Army Air Corps flying 48 missions, and the recipient of two purple hearts. He worked as an Administrator and Principal at many schools, retiring from West Mid High in Norman, OK. He is survived by his son Dennis and wife Annie; Grandchildren Damon and wife Lana, Derek, Dustin, and David Maxwell; and one Great Grandchild, Lindsey Maxwell. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Fern Boring, her son Mike and wife Christine. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Colene, and son Kirby Maxwell. Viewing will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home.
