

Donald Wood Haskins, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. He was born July 1, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Marion Olinger and A. Lynnwood (Bus) Haskins. A Casady School graduate, he received the Dartmouth Cup award, played on Casady’s first undefeated football team, and was named to the first Southwest Preparatory School All-Conference Basketball Team.
He graduated from the University of Oklahoma, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, and later received the Coulter Cup Award as the nation’s most outstanding alumnus for his contributions to the Nu Omega chapter. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas and a Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry from Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. On August 14, 1959, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Bozalis Haskins.
A leader in his profession, Don served as President of the Oklahoma Pediatric Dental Association, was a member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a Life Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and an active member of the American Dental and Oklahoma Dental Associations, where he served on many committees devoted to underprivileged children’s care.
He had a lifelong love of sports and was an enthusiastic University of Oklahoma football fan. One of his greatest joys was coaching Little League football, where he shared his passion and encouragement with young players. He also cherished the game of golf, especially the camaraderie of playing with a group of friends known as “The Chops.”
He was a member of the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, Seventy-Five Club, Lotus Club, University of Oklahoma President’s Associates, Sooner Club, Huguenot Society of South Carolina, and All Souls Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Ann; daughter Laura Beagles (Vance); son Bill Haskins (Heather); four grandchildren, David Beagles (Nadia), Bryan Beagles (Haley Pigman), Caroline Haskins Hammond (Joey), William Haskins (Macy); two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth Beagles; and Laura and Carl Hall.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at All Souls Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73116, with a reception to follow.
