Donita Karen Barrett

Donita Karen Barrett passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 74. Donita was born on April 22, 1951, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Gerald Leroy Ridle and Ella Ewing Ridle (Cannedy). After graduating from high school, she spent two years in college in Arizona. On December 10, 1971, Donita married the love of her life, Wesley Wayne Barrett. Together, they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage and raised two children: daughter Steffani Elaine Longeway and son Daniel Jason Barrett. A woman of strong faith, Donita was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Gracemont, Oklahoma, and later joined Canaan Baptist Church. She loved playing the piano during church services and a talent that reflected her deep love for Christian music. She also enjoyed songs from Willie Nelson too. A perfect day meant spending time with her parents, her sisters, and most of all, her grandchildren. Her favorite people who call her “Nanny.” She loved her family and treasured every moment with them. Something that could always make her laugh was the Andy Griffith Show. She taught those around her the importance of responsibility and respect, and she will be remembered for her unwavering devotion as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Donita was preceded in death by her dad, Gerald Ridle, and her sister, Laura Ridle. She is survived by her husband Wesley Wayne Barrett of Moore, Oklahoma; daughter Steffani Elaine Longeway of Edmond, Oklahoma; son Daniel Jason Barrett of Moore, Oklahoma; mom Ella Ewing Ridle; sisters Sharon Elaine Edelen (Joe) of Gracemont, Oklahoma; Jacqueline Louise Pack (Kenneth) of Gracemont, Oklahoma; Jeanne Ellen Bailey (Robert) of Gracemont, Oklahoma; her two grandchildren: Jason Bradley Rawdon and Brooklyn Ann Longeway; four nieces and 4 nephews.

A visitation for Donita will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A burial will occur Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
