

Dora Elizabeth (Lewellen) Carr-Johnson, 95, of Midwest City, passed away on November 24, 2023. She was born April 27, 1928 in Newport, Arkansas to Seth D. and Mary Jane (Miller) Lewellen.
Dora worked as a homemaker, Mid-Del Schools in the cafeteria, and General Motors where she received a plaque for 15 years of employment. She married James K. Carr in 1945 and divorced in 1974, after 29 years of marriage. She remarried in 1998 to Rufus “Curtis” Johnson in Las Vegas, NV at the ages of 70. They were married for 24 years until his passing in 2022.
Dora’s hobbies included; bowling, reading, working jigsaw puzzles, ballroom dancing, and watching her family members enjoy playing their chosen sports. Some of her favorite vacations included; California, South States of Confederacy, and New York City. Dora’s greatest achievements were when her children were born, her job at GM, and buying her own house and car. She also loved her animals; Sugar Pie, Beebe, and Garfield the Cat.
Dora is preceded in death by her Parents; Seth and Mary Jane Lewellen, Husband; Rufus “Curtis” Johnson, Daughter; Loretta Edwards, Brother; J.W. Lewellen, and Sisters; Bonnie Hale and Lillie Erlewine.
She is survived by her Daughters; LaVada White and Husband Mel and Wannetta Kohl and Husband Randy, Son; Jerry Carr and Wife Cherri, Grandchildren; Marquetta, Jeff, Tobi, Casey, Russell, Kimmie, Brenda, DeAnna and Beth, 20 Great-Grandchildren, 6 Great Great-Grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Loved Ones, and Friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the SSM Hospice Nurses and Staff – Kelli, Kari, Vanessa, Veronica, Daisy, and Chaplin Herman for taking such great care of their Mom.
