Dorothea Cunningham passed away May 15, 2012. She was born January 14, 1922 in Pennsylvania to Ross and Frances Cunningham. Dorothea attended Wesleyan Presbyterian College and then went on to study Opera at The Julliard School in New York City. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and was a free spirit, known to many as one who marched to the beat of her own drum. She was a member of the 1st Unitarian Church of Oklahoma City for 50 years. Dorothea loved singing, thrived on classical music, was a lifelong Democrat and loved nature. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers; William B. and Robert Cunningham. Surviving Dorothea is her sister-in-law Ann H. Cunningham of Massachusetts, five nephews; Greg Cunningham of Edmond, Steven and Douglas Cunningham of Oklahoma City, Bill Cunningham of New York and Tom Cunningham of Germany, as well as a variety of great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 18th.
