Dorothy Klotz Bradley

Oklahoma August 29, 1927, she lived many of her early years in Harrah, Oklahoma.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Bradley,soon after their 60th anniversary in 2007. She is survived by daughter, Pamela Jordan, son Stephen Bradley, son-in-law Gib Jordan, daughter-in-law Dana Bradley, grandson Michael Jordan, his wife Elke, granddaughter Scarlett Bradley, grandson Matt Bradley, and step grandchildren Mark Jordan, Laurel Jordan, Sheridan Augustine and Alyssa Augustine.

Mom was a product of the depression years. She came of age during WW II. It was said that women who stepped up were measured as citizens of the nation, not as women.....It was the people’s war, and everyone was in it. President Roosevelt said “They have stoked the furnaces and hurried the factory wheels. They have made the planes and welded the tanks, riveted the ships and rolled the shells.” He was speaking of the women like Mom who kept the nation going while the men were off to war. She spent those years working for McDonnell-Douglas. She was most proud to be considered a member of “the greatest generation”.

Once we started school, Mom went back to work, mostly for small oil companies. She often headed up our family while Dad was away on his job. It seemed that she could do anything. In 1970, she went to work at Tinker AFB and stayed there until her retirement in 1994.

Mom and Dad then enjoyed retirement together, spending a great deal of time travelling, especially loving their frequent trips to Las Vegas, as well as a special Alaskan cruise, and a trip to New York City the year of their 50th anniversary. As Mom’s health began to fail, she became unable to participate in the things that she had enjoyed so much. She never lost her pride in her family, was instrumental in making sure her children and grandchildren received college degrees, and she loved us to the end.
