Dorothy Mae Straughan

Dorothy Mae Straughan peacefully passed away on November 14, 2017. She was born on October 14, 1930, in Fargo, Oklahoma. She was one out of five children of Paul and Maggie Francis Smith. Dorothy attended Enid Business College and later began working at 7-11 and after 25 years, she retired as a manager. She spent her time crocheting and her greatest achievement was her family.

She is preceded in death by, her father, Paul Robert Smith; mother, Maggie Francis Smith; brother, Allen Smith; brother Harold Smith, and his wife Teri; son Clennon Pierce; daughter, Charlotte Porter; and brother-in-law, Donnie Piltman.

Dorothy is survived by, her brother, Nolan Smith, and his wife Dorothy of Fargo, OK; her brother, Gordan Smith, and his wife Deanna of Kansas; her sister Deloris Piltman of Gage, OK; her daughter Carolyn Hamm, and her husband Doug of Reimer, TN; her son, Tim Pierce; her daughter Nancy Pierce of Oklahoma City, OK; her son Claud Pierce and wife Cindy of Oklahoma City, OK; her son-in-law James Porter; and 10 grand-children, 12 great grand-children, 2 nieces, and 4 nephews.

Visitation for Dorothy will be on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2:00pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
