

Longtime Midwest City resident, Dr. Edith “Pat” McFarland, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Friday morning, August 21, 2015. Pat was born March 14, 1924 in Montrose, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. Wade McFarland and son, Steven Wade McFarland. She is survived by daughter Linda Ann McDade and husband Chuck; son, Edsel Sandefur McFarland and his wife Wanda; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was actively involved for many years as a member at First Baptist Church, Meadowood Baptist Church, and Soldier Creek Baptist Church, all in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was a Mid-Del Educator at Country Estates and Traub Elementary Schools. She was the Director of Dale Rogers School for the Handicapped. She was also Director of Seminole County Special Education Co-op. In retirement, she taught in the English as a Second Language Program at Meadowood Baptist Church.The family would like to thank the staff at Sienna Long Term Care and Re-hab for their loving care for the last two years. A visitation will be held from 6 pm - 8 pm Monday, August 24, 2015 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St., OKC, OK 73141. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Soldier Creek Baptist Church in Midwest City, OK. Burial will follow at a later date in Alexandria National Cemetery, Alexandria, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, 3800 N.
