

Edward M. Lewis, 96 year-old resident of McLoud, OK, passed away July 22, 2014 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Born April 24, 1918 in Keota, Oklahoma, he was the son of Edward Franklin Lewis and Laura Luretha Ellington Lewis. Edward had proudly served his country until his retirement in 1965 from the U. S. Air Force, working as an auto mechanic. He then worked at Tinker AFB as an electrician until his retirement. He loved fishing; playing dominoes and cards; OU football; and the New York Yankees, especially Derek Jeter. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son; and 5 siblings. Survivors include his wife Gwen Lewis of the home; 1 son, Roy Lee Lewis of Stillwater, Oklahoma; 2 daughters, Mary Annette and her husband Robert Stoetzel of Del City, OK: and Peggy Joyce and her husband James Hunter of McLoud, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson, Teague; 1 brother, Charles Leroy Lewis of Roswell, New Mexico; 1 sister, Annalaura Willis of Oregon; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73141. Burial will follow at Kolb Cemetery, Spencer, Oklahoma, following full Military Honors by the U. S. Air Force Honors Detail.
