Elizabeth Ann Foor lost her battle to cancer March 26, 2014 in Oklahoma City. Elizabeth ‘Liz’ was born December 8, 1948 in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. She grew up in Wichita, Kansas attending Arkansas Avenue Elementary School; and in Midwest and Del City, Oklahoma where she met Douglas Foor. They fell in love and were married in 1965 in Del City. Together they traveled and lived in Illinois, Guam, San Antonio, Wichita, and settled back in Oklahoma.
Liz was a loving mother of three children and devoted her life to raising them. While in Wichita Liz became a hair stylist, a profession she enjoyed for over twenty years making lifelong friends along the way. During the warmer months Liz took to gardening, a pastime she looked forward to each year. She was also accomplished at crocheting and loved anything that included crafts. Occasionally, Liz also enjoyed camping and fishing. But most of all Liz loved spending time with her friends and family.
Holidays were an important part of Liz’s life. Her children have many fond memories of the loving effort that went into making every occasion special. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. The familiar scent of a freshly baked cake was commonplace this time of year, along with festive decorations.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents George (Marion) and Doris (Bert) Cowley. Liz leaves behind husband Douglas H Foor; sister Orlena Lucille Riffe; brother George Cowley Jr.; daughters Laura Nutter, and Cheryl Myers; and son Douglas E Foor. She was blessed to have ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as many loved ones and dear friends.
A viewing will be held Monday, March 31st from 9am until 8pm as well as Tuesday from 8am until 8pm at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home in Midwest City, OK. A service and interment will be held Saturday, April 5th at 2pm at Lakeview Funeral Home and Cemetery in Wichita, KS.
