Eric Hillstead

Eric Hillstead, 52, of Harrah, Oklahoma passed away Friday, August 15, 2014. He was born December 14, 1961 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Henry and Ella Mae (Hammons) Hillstead. Eric enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. You could usually find him tinkering in his yard or on some project outside. Eric was a devout Christian and loved his Lord. He was a member of Life Tabernacle Church in Moore, Oklahoma. In January 2014, Eric married Nellie Thiessen Hillstead and the two adored each other. He doted on Nell and the two brought out the best in each other. He loved to tease her, often referring to her small size and resting a loving arm on her head. His goal was always to hear her laugh. Eric is survived by his wife, Nell of the home; step-daughters, Natasha Chambers, Tammy Sourjohn and husband Bert, Traci Skinner, Teresa Thiessen; grandchildren, Maddison, Jacob, Destiny, Derek, Dylon; the great grandson he adored, Matthew Kenneth; brother, Ben Hillstead and wife Sandy; sisters, Patricia Martin and husband Walter, Alice Tuma and husband Jack; nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and his Life Tabernacle Church family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Eric was a kind and loving man and left his mark on many lives. He will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.
