

Erminie Mary Van Ostrand Randolph died in her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 26, 2011. She was born on June 30, 1922 in Oklahoma City. Her parents were Walter Scott Van Ostrand and Mary Elizabeth Mayall Van Ostrand. She had one brother, Philip Van Ostrand, deceased. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City in 1940 and was a member of the Red Skirts. She graduated from Colorado Women’s College in Denver, Colorado majoring in music and piano performance. She married John Wilson Randolph in the summer of 1942. Erminie lived in Enid, Oklahoma most of her adult life where John was a professor of art at Phillips University. His students were very dear to her heart. John and Erminie spent summers at Phillips Science Camp in Colorado. Most recently Erminie lived at the Imperial Terrace Apartments where she had many dear friends. Erminie enjoyed history and spent countless hours preparing family genealogies. She was an avid reader, an incurable football fan, and loved a good road trip. Her unquenchable enthusiasm for life will be greatly missed by her many friends and family – Betty Lou Randolph Ryder, her sons, Ellis Edwin Randolph and John Scott Randolph, her daughters, Elizabeth Ann Randolph and Deborah Randolph and their spouses, Nancy, Jill, Bob and Jay, and her nine grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Randolph Stephens, Christopher James Randolph, Mary Shannon Randolph, Elliott Leon Barcikowski, Austin Myles Christianson, Holland Randolph Gallagher, Dillon Scott Randolph, William Gray Randolph and John Reed Randolph. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Oklahoma City at 2PM, Monday, January 31, 2011.
