Farold D. Staples

Farold D. Staples, 83 year-old resident of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away March 7, 2013 at his home. Born September 11, 1929 in Lucien, Oklahoma, he was the son of Robert A. Staples and Edith C. Mitchell Staples. Farold had worked for the State of Oklahoma for many years operating heavy equipment. He loved playing music especially playing his guitar and fiddle. Farold enjoyed walking, playing cards especially “Progressive Rummy”. He had never met a stranger, loved to travel and see people and especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Farold was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Edith Staples; 1 brother, Bobby Staples; and 1 step son-in-law, Doug Skipper. Survivors include his wife Barbara Steele Staples of the home; 6 step-children, Linda (Henry) Garcia of California; Patricia (James) Miller of Mississippi; Michael (Cynthia) McKee of Mississippi; Sandy (Chris) Fryfogle of Mississippi; Anne Skipper of Oklahoma; and Kenneth Harris; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Lavina (Richard) McLarin of Oklahoma. Visitation will be held Monday, March 11, 2013 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, OK 73141, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
