Faunda Louise Dobbins

Faunda Louise Dobbins, age 88, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at her home at Meadowlake Estates. She was the widow of George Dobbins, whom passed fourteen years ago. They were married for 60 years. She is preceded in death by her only son, Russell Weldon Dobbins in 1993 in Santa Barbara, CA, and her Mother and Father, Viala Pearl Dobbins (Gray) and Russell Orren Dobbins. Faunda is survived by a foster Son, Gerald Twobabies, whom she fostered since he was a baby, whom resides in Guthrie in an assisted living facility. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Gracie Evans, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her cousin Lajuana Knox of Seminole, Oklahoma, Brother-in-law Richard Dobbins of Norman, Oklahoma, Brother-in-law Dale Dobbins of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and long time friend and partner of Russell Dobbins o Sacramento, California, Carl Preston Battles, whom resides in Portland Oregon and many other family members on the Dobbins side located through-out Oklahoma in places such as Moore, Tecumseh and Pauls Valley. Born on June 22, 1936 in Guthrie, Oklahoma, she was the daughter and only child of Viala Pearl Wallace (Gray) and Russell Orren Wallace. She attended Guthrie High school where she graduated with her diploma. Faunda worked at Dillard's retail store for multiple years and worked in the shoe department. She retired from there in 2001. She was also a member of Triumph Family Worship where she enjoyed visiting with friends. Some of her favorite hobbies were shopping, and she loved to shop for jewelry and purses. Her favorite place to shop was at weekend garage sales. Although her family describes her as a classy old fashioned lady who kept most of her life private, Faunda was an inspiration to others by sharing her personal testimony in local support groups after achieving significant weight-loss due to gastric bypass surgery in the early 1980s. In addition, Faunda became a local participant and supporter in the HIV cause by marching and offering support and personal care to community members in the 1990s. The funeral service will be held Friday April 18, 2025 in the Chapel at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services at 2:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Thursday April 17th, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services.
