Fernando Javier Acuna Salas

Fernando is survived by his wife, Irma (Chela), sons Fernando Jr, Edgar, and Mauricio Sr, daughter in law Michelle, granddaughters Allison and Brookelyn, and grandsons Mauricio Jr and Oscar, all of Edmond, Oklahoma. He also has his sister Marcela Cerda and brother Sergio Acuna Sr with wife Sandra, all of Pharr, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Miguel Acuna Sr and Rosa Maria Salas Acuna, sister Sarita Acuna (Chata), and brother Miguel Acuna Jr.

Fernando was born on November 10th, 1941 in Mexico City to Miguel and Rosa Maria.

He married the love of his life, Irma Graciela Elizondo, on December 17th, 1971.

Fernando was such a family man. Nothing could ever compare. He worked incredibly hard his entire life to provide a life of love, gratitude, lessons, and purpose.

He enjoyed listening to music constantly, throwing anything and everything on the grill, and watching soccer, especially to cheer on his Pumas.

A service will be scheduled for 10am Saturday, October 18th at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall. All are more than welcome to attend to celebrate Fernando’s life.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Charles Borromeo or to the Acuna household.

A funeral service will be held at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, located at 5024 N Grove Ave, Warr Acres, OK, 73122. The service is scheduled for October 18, 2025, starting at 10:00 am.
