Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 40 years Floyd E. Jenkins; one grandson, Timothy Dale Pershica; four brothers; and four sisters. Florence was raised in Cashion and graduated from Cashion High School. Florence met the love of her life Floyd E Jenkins and they were united in marriage on July 1, 1949 in Guthrie, OK. They moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma and then to Choctaw to raise their family. Florence was a member of The First Baptist Church of Choctaw and a member of the Maverick Square Dance club. She and Floyd enjoyed their travels with the club. She was an excellent seamstress, she enjoyed sewing and had made a lot of their Square dance attire. She was always making outfits for her children and her grandchildren, including her daughter’s wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses. She also enjoyed gardening; most importantly she cherished her time spent with all her family. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, Granny, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She always treated everyone with love and kindness. She was always there to love and support her children and grandchildren along with other family members. Florence struggled for the last few years with her illness but she never lost her sense of humor. Not too long ago when Sandy and Jerry went in for their nightly visit to kiss mom goodnight, she was already in bed and Sandy went to look to see if she was asleep, even asked her if she was awake. Mom didn't answer her so Sandy went across the room and then came back to kiss her goodnight. When she leaned over her mom opened her eyes and said 'Boo', scared Sandy and made her jump. Mom just laughed and said that was so funny, she really got a kick out of that. Then she got where she would ask Sandy, if she would let her husband kiss her good night too. We all have wonderful memories that we will always cherish. The time we spent with her is precious, even though we feel it wasn't quite as long as we wished it to be. She will always be with us in our heart and leaves all of us to carry on for her. Mom was a special one of a kind person whom we all loved dearly.
