Frances Mae Burchfield was born on February 17, 1930 near Minco, OK, the second of six children to Claude Cecil Burchfield and Agnes Mae Burchfield. She lived a long, joyful life and left this world to be with her Savior on March 7, 2018, at the age of 88.
After graduating from Minco High School, Frances attended and graduated from Blackwell Business School in OKC.
On April 30, 1971, Frances married James Cameron Harrison. Frances and Jim were devoted to one another, and made a beautiful home for their family.
Frances enjoyed a long career in civil service - first with the Federal Aviation Administration and later with the Social Security Administration. When she retired from Social Security at age 55, Jim hired her to keep the books and boss him around full time at the family business.
Frances took much delight in doing for others, and volunteered for over 19 years at the Gift Shop at Deaconess Hospital. She was involved in The Good Sam’s Travel Club, Country Roads Chapter for about 15 years where she and Jim enjoyed short and long distance travels in their RV all across the USA. She enjoyed quilting, oil painting, and was a fiercely competitive player of card and board games of any kind.
She will be remembered lovingly by family and friends.
Frances is survived by: husband, Jim Harrison; children John Tevis and Teri Tevis; grandchildren, Cory Tevis and Mike Tevis; two great grandchildren; sisters Patty Taylor, Barbara Ford and Annie Guthery; brothers Wesley Burchfield (Mary) and Ross Burchfield; as well as many nieces and nephews.
