Frances’ book begins in Maysville, OK where she was born to Charles & Wilna Taylor, November 7, 1931. The first chapters unfold in rather normal fashion: the family moves to OKC, where brothers Bud, Winston, and Jon are added. Associate degree at OU, marries her beloved Richard L. McAfee in 1950, a simple life in Okmulgee, OK as the wife of a hardware salesman, and two young sons, until 1960, when the plot explodes into a series of the most challenging, yet rewarding twists and turns, as she begins a most earnest journey with her Savior, Jesus. A call to ministry leads to Princeton, NJ seminary for him, then, in Plainsboro, NJ Frances becomes a pastor’s wife! From Plainsboro, to OKC, Louisville, KY, and back to OKC, sprinkled with teaching trips in the USA and in Europe. Many stories, much life shared, people healed and restored. Frances was a wonderful mother to their sons, Grandmommy to her grandchildren, and helpmeet to Richard until his passing in 2004. All chapters include her love of sewing, creating oil paintings, cooking, and hosting gatherings in their ever-clean home!
While under the loving care of Mary and her staff in the memory care unit of The Fountains, Frances died peacefully in her sleep, April 13, 2020. The story does not end there, however. Her message, her prayer, is that all could experience the reality of peace throughout eternity, where she hopes and trusts she will see us all once again! She is survived by sons Richard (Jina) Temple, TX, and Rob (Julie) OKC, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and brother Winston (Sue) CA. There will be a private memorial service through Zoom Saturday, followed by a private burial.
