Francis R. Thompson

While there he starred in stage plays, musicals and various sports, specifically football. In August, 1939 he married Ruby Andes.

After graduating from Central High School in OKC, Francis went to work on "Film Row" in downtown OKC. He worked with Columbia & Paramount pictures. His career there was interrupted by his military service at Camp Barclay Texas during WWII. Francis was proud to serve his country and was thrilled to reminisce of those days.

Draughn Business School opened a new career path upon his return from the military. Being the academic he was, he became quite involved with accounting which began a lifelong career. He worked for several large companies: Black, Sivils & Bryson; Robinson, DeCordova & Phillips, and Bachman Chemical were a few.

Francis joined First Christian Church in 1947 on NW 10th & Robinson. His greatest delight was praising the Lord in choir where he sang for 50 years. He married Lucretia Frantz on October 14, 1995. They attended services and served in many capacities to this day.

Family survivors are his devoted wife, Lucretia; dear cousin Charlotte Shannon, neices & nephews: Deana Clement (John), Cecily Challis(Terry), Julie Meadows(Hoyt), Daniel Turrentine (Trish), Charley Turrentine, Jeff Shannon (BJ), Paddy Shannon; and many great nieces & nephews: Dana Lamey, Rene Donnell, Melissa McLaughlin, Ari Turrentine, Jake Turrentine, Zack Briggs, Carla Forton & Danielle Brown.

Funeral services will be at 10:30am, Saturday, July 26, 2014, at First Christian Church, 3600 N. Walker and interment in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
