Frederick "Rick" James Roop

Frederick James “Rick” Roop, 56, was born August 29, 1956, in Tulsa, OK, to parents William “Bill” & Patsy (Ross) Roop and passed from this life suddenly on April 4, 2013. Rick was a principal in the Altus school system. He received his bachelor’s degree from Central State University and his master’s from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. A loving husband, father, son, “PaPa”, brother, and friend, Rick never met a stranger and always made a friends with anyone he met. He enjoyed riding Harleys, officiating basketball games, and hobby farming. He was also a hard worker who wanted a plan for everyday. He was always asking, “What’s the game plan?”

Rick was preceded in death by his father Bill and uncle Robert Roop. He is survived by his wife and best-friend, Vickie; son Robert Roop & his wife Tiffany; daughter Katie Endres & her husband Michael; mother, Patsy Melton; sisters Margaret Snyder and Lesley Lemmon; brothers Will Roop and Bill T. Roop; grandchildren: Bryce, Abbie, Lucy, and Wagoner; uncle Gene C. Roop; and tons of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 1pm to 8pm, Sunday, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 8701 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services will be 2pm, Monday, April 8, 2013, at Surrey Hills Baptist Church 12421 N Mustang Rd, Yukon, OK with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
