

Dennie was born on October 14, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Monroe Howard and Daisy Broadway. She was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her family deeply.
Dennie married Henry Johnson, and they enjoyed 34 years of marriage. Together they raised three sons and ran their business, American Pick Up & Truck Salvage. She found immense joy in watching her sons race sprint cars at State Fair Speedway, and more recently, she never missed a sprint car race on TV.
Dennie adored her grandchildren and looked forward to weekly visits from various family and friends. She had a lineup of favorite TV shows she watched religiously and enjoyed Friday night Bingo. Dennie enjoyed baking and playing Skip Bo and Rummy. She also spent many years bowling at Meridian Lanes in various leagues. Her two dogs, Henry and April, held a special place in her heart.
To everyone who knew her, she was not only a devoted mother and grandmother but also a second mom or grandma, always radiating love and care. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Johnson of Tuttle, OK and wife Sara; son Michael Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren Buddy Johnson and wife Bree; Dena Gillikin and husband Jeremy; Cynthia Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Kinser Johnson and wife Christian; Paige Johnson, Melanie Kent, and Tyler Kent; and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: her spouse, Henry Johnson; son, Buddy Johnson; parents, Monroe Howard and Daisy Broadway; and dog, April.
A visitation for Dennie will be held from 10 am to 2 pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 with a service to follow starting at 2 pm at Advantage Funeral Home Chapel, located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK.
