

Glory Gladys Dora Louise Pralle passed away on November 4, 2011 at the age of 89. She was born on November 14, 1921 in New York City to Dora Elizabeth Corfield Weidmann, originally from Shropshire, England and William John Weidmann of New York City. Glory lived in Wallasey, England and New York City in her younger years and graduated from Holy Trinity High School, Hackensack, New Jersey. She earned her Nursing Degree from St. Joseph Medical Center in Patterson, New Jersey and Seton Hall College. After becoming an RN, she enlisted in the US Army Nursing Corps during WWII. She served as a surgical nurse with the 3rd Army Field Hospital in the South Pacific Theatre. It was in the Philippines that she met and married artillery officer Walt Pralle of Oklahoma City. After the war, they moved to Norman, OK where Walt attended OU law school and Glory worked as an RN at the OU Infirmary. It was during those years that Glory became a loyal OU fan. In 1948 they moved to Oklahoma City where Glory was active with and supportive of their two sons as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Sunday School teacher and PTA member and president. In 1968 she resumed her nursing career at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City and assisted in organizing the neonatal intensive care unit for prematurely born babies. She enjoyed her work there and touched many lives before retiring in 1984. After retirement she continued at Integris as a volunteer for 27 years. She attended Messiah Lutheran Church for many years and was deeply faithful. Glory is survived by two sons and their spouses, Walter E. Pralle II and Sandra of Tishomingo, OK and Richard P. Pralle and Jan of Oklahoma City and two granddaughters Lauren K. Pralle of Sao Paulo, Brazil and Natalie L. Pralle of Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 7, 2011 at Messiah Lutheran Church located at NW Expressway and Portland. Visitation will be Sunday from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper. Arrangements by Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper and Rose Hill Burial Park.
