

Harold A. Marx went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. He was born in Emporia, Kansas on July 6, 1913 to Otto and Anna (Harder) Marx. Harold was the youngest of five children; Mabel Strader, Bessie Strader, Ottilla Powell and Gus H. Marx, all of whom preceded him in death.
Harold and his family moved to Okeene, Oklahoma in 1915. Where he met and later married his hometown sweetheart, Theora Cook on September 3, 1938, who also preceded him in death. They celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary in 2003.
Harold accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Okeene, Oklahoma in February 1939. He graduated from Okeene High School in 1930, and was employed by the Okeene Milling Company until 1942. Later, he was employed at Tinker Air Force Base as an engineer, retiring in 1973 after 31 years of service. After retiring from Tinker, Harold worked as a commercial building engineer until 1990. Harold was involved as a Junior High Sunday School Teacher at Crestwood Baptist Church and was a Scoutmaster with The Boy Scouts of America for many years. He was a member of Crestwood for over 50 years.
He is survived by his son, Randy Marx and wife Marilyn of Edmond, Sisters-in-law, Mary Cotner (Colorado), Wyvonne Sherin (Texas) and Vera Cook, (Oklahoma), many nieces and nephews, a dear friend, Ina Colgin and many friends whom he loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Funeral services will be held on 11:00 am, Monday, September 19 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
