

Harold Eugene Reed, 87, of OKC passed peacefully from this life on December 15, 2020 with his loving family by his side. Services have entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral and Cremation Service and a celebration of Harold’s life will be held at 2pm on Friday at Rose Hill Burial Park in OKC.
Harold was born on May 7, 1933 in OKC to Thomas and Rosalie (Mollman) Reed. He grew up in S. OKC where he attended Capitol Hill High School, graduating in the early 1950’s. He soon joined the US Marine Corp where he served as a machinist in Hawaii during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged from the service in 1954 and three years later he married Charlotte Lee Steele. Harold and Charlotte had three beautiful children together before their eventual divorce.
Harold spent several years working as a police patrol officer for the OKC Police Dept before accepting a civilian position at Tinker Air Force Base. He worked at Tinker for 27 years, retiring as a fuel control supervisor in the mid 1990’s. Harold made many wonderful friends during his time there.
Harold Reed was a kind and easy going man known for his generosity and his dedication to his church. His faith was the cornerstone of Harold’s life. He was an 80+ year member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in OKC where he sang in the choir and later served as a deacon. Harold was a constant presence at daily mass and he was always there to serve or lend a helping hand. He was also a member of the Catholic Association of Foresters.
When Harold wasn’t busy at the church, he loved to dance. He spent years practicing and even became a competitive ballroom dancer. Harold was a dedicated family man who loved his kids and grandkids unconditionally. He left an unmistakable mark on the lives of so many people and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Rosalie Reed; and a sister Betty Williams. Left behind to carry on his legacy of selfless service to others are his three children: Gene Reed, Cindy Henson and husband Tim, and Dana Noble; a sister Carolyn Strouhal; six grandchildren: Christian, Mark, Courtney, Matthew, Ryan, and Matthew; 8 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.
