

Harriet Brown, 92, OKC, died Oct. 24, 2014. She was born Jan. 30, 1922 in Rosston, OK, Harper County. She was preceded in death by her parents C.T. and Jessie Moore, brothers Rex and Edgar, sister Julia, son Roger, and husband Lee. She attended Oklahoma A&M, graduating with a degree in Home Economics. She then taught in Hardesty, OK for 2 years before joining the WACS in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945. In 1947 she met husband Lee M. Brown and married in 1948. She worked for ONG and OGNE. She was an active member in PEO, sewing clubs, and was a judge at many county and state fairs. She participated in women’s groups and Bible studies at Crown Heights Christian Church and Chapel Hill UMC. Lee and Harriet were also involved in Kiwanis. She was an outstanding cook and seamstress with a knowledge of fine fabrics. She is survived by her son Edward, sister Mary Maude Moore, nephews Greg Brown and Riley Finley and Marquita Austin, niece. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 26, from 3-8 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in OKC. Services will be Monday, Oct. 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church with interment following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
