She pursued the profession of Hair Dresser in Oklahoma City where she met Ben H. Wiemers. Ben and Helen were married in the Coalgate Church of Christ on September 27, 1952. The couple established a home in Oklahoma City, where they resided until their deaths. Helen operated her own beauty shop for many years where she made many friends.
Helen had many passions and hobbies in addition to her being a wife and mother. She was proud of her children's accomplishments, and would share about them with anyone who would listen. Some of Helen's hobbies were painting, genealogy, Republican politics, sports, and especially gardening. She was a member of the Mayfair Church of Christ and attended until her health prevented her from attending.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ben, two sisters; Rowena Henderson and Velma Love; four brothers-in-law; Stanley Helms, Newt Henderson, Ira Henderson, and Frank Love.
Helen is survived by one son, Larry Wiemers of Freedom, Okla., and one daughter, Linda Wiemers of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Pauline Henderson of Ada, Okla., Jacqueline Helms of Coalgate, Okla., and Peggy Summers of Del City, Okla. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, Gerald Summers of Del City, Okla., and one sister-in-law, Vernell Wiemers of Temple, TX., along with many nieces and nephews and all their kids.
Helen's charity of choice was the Arthritis Foundation and would be pleased if friends and family made donations to this foundation in lieu of flowers.
Helen will be missed, but all who knew her and loved her know that she is at peace with God and her family that have preceded her.
Arrangements under the direction of Guardian Funeral Homes West Chapel, Oklahoma City, OK.
