Henrietta Spangler, passed away August 7, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 83. Born October 8, 1935 in Hugo, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Willis D. Shepard and Nancy (Roebuck) Shepard. Henrietta was a longtime registered nurse. She was a proud Native American of the Choctaw Nation. Henrietta was a bit hard-headed and “spunky”. She loved cooking (fried potatoes, tea, and macaroni and cheese), gardening, both flowers and vegetables, watching nature shows on television, traveling especially cruises, sewing, all arts and crafts, shopping, turtles, and most of all, being around her family. Preceding her in death were her parents, Willis and Nancy Shepard, siblings, Betty Brisco, Helen Rawlings, Ollie Shepard, Hubert Shepard, Gene Shepard, Dub Shepard, and Floyd Shepard. Survivors include her children, Carlos Daniel Spangler and his wife Christy, Pat Gaylon Spangler and his wife Lacina, Vicky Jones, Lisa Spangler, Donna Spangler, and Craig Spangler, brothers, Lloyd Shepard and Dansby Shepard, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss her dearly. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73141 with Dr. Philip Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
