

March 29, 1934 - Jan 15, 2012 McKINNEY, TX Jack Richard Treat, 77, passed away on Jan. 15, 2012, in McKinney, TX. He was born on March 29, 1934, in Cleveland, OK to Tom & Thelma Treat. He grew up in Cleveland, OK and attended school there. He left Cleveland in 1954 and joined the United States Army. While in the Army, Jack met his wife Grace. They had one child, Deborah Kay. They began their life in Cleveland, OK, where Jack worked in the oil field, but later moved to OKC so Jack could attend Central State University in Edmond, OK. It was at Central State University that Jack earned a Bachelor of Education degree. While attending C.S.U., Jack played football, basketball and baseball. Jack began his teaching career at Northwest Classen High School in OKC. He coached football, basketball and golf there. He left NWC High School in 1969 to become the Head Football Coach in Clinton, OK. While he was there, they won a State Football Championship in 1969. When he left, he got out of education for a few years and served some time as a golf pro, then as an independent truck driver, and a bar owner in Olympia, WA. When he got back into education, he coached at Geary, OK and Bridgecreek, OK before retiring in 2000. Jack loved sports, coaching, and his family. He spent a lot of time with his grandchildren, Beau and Jordan, and his daughter and her husband, Debbie and Ross. He also enjoyed playing golf and dominoes in his spare time. He will be greatly missed by his friends, players, and family. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Grace; his parents, Tom and Thelma Treat; and a sister, Barbara. He is survived by one brother, Brad; a daughter, Debbie and her husband Ross; and his grandchildren, Beau and Jordan. A memorial service will be held on January 29, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
