

Jim was born to John Charles Brust, Jr. and Ethel Mae Munnerlyn Brust on December 25, 1942, in Lonoke, Arkansas. Lonoke is where he spent his formative years, and he moved to Oklahoma in 1968.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Air Force, retiring from the United States Air Force with his final assignment in Transportation and Supply Management. His rank at the time of his retirement was Master Sergeant.
Jim was genuinely a good person and had a good work ethic. He was proud of his wife, children and his entire family. Jim and Linda were married on May 4, 1968, and they celebrated their 56th anniversary this year.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Pete Brust and Jerry Brust.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Linda Brust; son David Brust of Oklahoma City; daughter Angela Bernier and husband Chris Bernier of Bethany; brother Larry Brust of Oklahoma City; sister Linda Jacobs and husband George Jacobs of Branson, MO, Ella Barnett of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Kiley Brust and Kaycie Bernier; niece Stacy Sams and nephews Kevin Barnett and Michael Brown.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Jim will be honored with full military honors at his graveside service on Monday, Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
