

James Warren Caylor, 85, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014, in Oklahoma City. Son of Don V. Caylor and Marjorie Martin Caylor, Jim was born June 10, 1929, in Hugo, OK, where he graduated from high school.
He earned an undergraduate degree at the University of New Mexico and Master of Science in Geology at the University of Oklahoma, followed by service in the U.S. Air Force, Jim was employed by Shell Oil Company as a petroleum geologist in Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. Subsequently, he joined Cleary Petroleum in Oklahoma City. In 1977, Jim established Fossil Energy Inc., where he continued working until his death.
He was a member of AAPG and the Oklahoma City Geological Society. Jim was an active member of the Advisory Board to the University of Oklahoma School of Geology. At Westminster Presbyterian Church, Jim served as a Deacon and Elder. He was a member of Rotary Club 29 and honored as a Paul Harris Fellow and Rotary Club 29 Fellow.
In February 1979, Jim and Ann Holmes were married. Daughter Sarah Elizabeth was born in May 1980.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Ann Holmes Caylor; his daughter, Sarah Caylor Campbell and husband Shawn; granddaughter Caylor Elizabeth Campbell; brother F. Martin Caylor; and cousins Garth W. Caylor, Jr. & wife Pat Caylor,; Diane Caylor Galloway & husband Glenn Galloway and Carole Caylor Johnston.
A memorial service will be at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014.
